National Day Message for Madagascar
To the people of Madagascar:
On behalf of all Americans, I wish to congratulate the
people of Madagascar on the June 26 celebration of your
Country's National Day.
As you celebrate your Country's Independence, the United
States remains committed to the principle that the
people of Madagascar should be able to enjoy the
benefits of responsible, democratic governance and
respect for human rights and the rule of law. We stand
with the people of Madagascar in the hope that this year
will see a return to these ideals.
